Man dies after serious crash involving Audi and Vauxhall in London Road, Rainham

A man in his 80s has died after being involved in a serious crash.

The incident happened in London Road, Rainham, between the junctions with Pump Lane and Bloors Lane, at around 11.45am on Tuesday (March 4).

A silver Audi A6 was being driven towards Rainham when it collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction.

The two cars then crashed into separate, parked, white Ford Transit vans.

Police and ambulance services were called to the scene, and a man in his 80s, who had been a passenger in the Vauxhall, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He later died on Saturday (March 8).

The Audi driver also received medical attention at hospital.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam video while an investigation takes place.
