Gillingham man appears in court charged with stealing a car and dangerous driving

A man has appeared in court charged with stealing a car and dangerous driving.

Police were called after a Honda Civic was reported stolen from a home in Inner Lines, Gillingham, at 1.15am on Saturday, and officers subsequently stopped the car just after 1.40am when it was seen in Knight Road, Strood.

Connor Robinson, 26, from Graham Close, Gillingham, was charged with driving a vehicle without consent, driving without a licence, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and failing to give a specimen for analysis under the Road Traffic Act.

He was also charged for a separate offence of theft from a shop in Chatham on May 27 and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Following the hearing he was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday July 12.

Four men aged 25, 29, 31 and 40, who were arrested in connection with the incident were released without charge.
