Arrested man released on bail following alleged rape of man near Great Lines Park, Gillingham

A man arrested after another man was allegedly raped in an alleyway has been released on bail.

Officers arrested a 45-year-old man following the reported rape near Medway Maritime Hospital and the Great Lines Park in Gillingham last week.

The incident is said to have happened at about 1.30am on Wednesday, October 20 on the walkway next to the Great Lines between Marlborough Road in Gillingham and Longhill Avenue in Chatham.

The 45-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested the next day in connection with the incident and was taken into custody.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries, until November 19.
