60-year-old man pulled from river after falling off yacht near Upnor, Chatham

A man was pulled from the river after falling off his yacht.

The 60-year-old fell off his boat, in Upnor, last night at around 7pm last night and was saved by a passerby in a dinghy, after being in the water for around 30 minutes.

RNLI spokesman, Jason Impey, said: "Sheerness RNLI were called just after 7pm.

"The man was taken ashore and treated for a shoulder injury by paramedics.

"He was then taken to a hospital for treatment."

A resident described seeing helicopters and boats searching for the man.
