Firefighters were called to a shed fire and gave a man first aid treatment in Gillingham.

A man's been given first aid after a shed fire in Gillingham.

Two fire engines were called to a fire in the garden of a property in Sharps Green just before 13.45pm this afternoon.

Crews found a man in his 60s with burns to his arms after he'd tried to put out the fire.

The fire then spread to trees and undergrowth.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it was out by 14.30pm

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "KFRS was called to a fire in the garden of a property in Sharps Green, Gillingham.

"On arrival crews found a man in his 60s with slight burns to his arms after he'd tried to tackle the fire in the shed, before it spread to trees and undergrowth.

"Crews treated the man with first aid.

"They used a hose reel jet to tackle the blaze.

"The cause of the fire isn't yet known."
