Man wanted in connection with incident in Blue Bell Hill after police officer struck by car

Detectives have stepped up their search for a man after a police officer was hit by a car.

Officers have released the image of Eglant Lleshi who is wanted by police in connection with a violent incident near Blue Bell Hill last week.

Police were called to Common Road on Thursday around 1am and stopped to speak to people in a car.

A patrol officer had spotted a grey Ford Kuga parked at the roadside and embarked on a drugs search of the vehicle.

During the search a man started manoeuvring the vehicle which then collided with one of the officers before he fled the scene.

The incident led to the officer requiring hospital treatment for leg injuries.

Following a search of the area the car was recovered in lay-by on Pilgrims Way near the junction with Bull Lane, Eccles.

A quantity of suspected drugs was seized from inside the vehicle and a woman in her 20s from Maidstone was also arrested in relation to the incident and taken into police custody.

Eglant Lleshi has been added to Kent Police's most wanted list in connection with attempted grievous bodily harm.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 46/166075/20.

Drivers in and around the area are also asked to check dash cams and residents with CCTV or doorbell cameras are asked to review any footage.
