Chatham: The Royal Thai Cuisine, New Road Chatham wins Thai Chef of the Year at Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards

A Thai restaurant celebrates as they win at the first ever Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.

Chef Mintu Khan of The Royal Thai Cuisine, 50 New Road, Chatham was crowned National Thai Chef of the Year.

He said: " I have been sincerely working with dedication for the last 37 years with very prestiges hotel chains and restaurant in many different countries, this achievement has made me feel now that it was all worth it.

"I look forward to share my experience and expertise and all the delicious dishes with my customers in my restaurant at Royal Thai Cuisine."

He was given the award at a ceremony hosted by TV chef Ainsley Harriott in the InterContinental London at The O2 arena on September, 30.

There were lots of VIP guests at the evening including Liberal Democrats Sir John Vincent Cable, television personality Lizzie Cundy and cricketer Monty Panesar.
