Up to five cars were involved in a collision in the Medway Tunnel yesterday morning. (Monday)

Police and the Kent Air Ambulance were called to the Strood-bound carriageway following the incident at 10am.

No one was injured but the crash caused major traffic hold-ups for several hours. Drivers were diverted away from the tunnel while the wreckage was cleared and the road was eventually opened at 1.17pm
