Reigning champions Chelmsford Chieftains return to Silver Blades on Sunday to face Invicta Dynamos.

Mos head coach Kevin Parrish knows that success this season will mean being strong on home ice and he’s looking to put one over the champions.

He said: “It’s going to be vital to win games at home. If you can then pick up eight or nine away, then you are going to be up there.

“Chelmsford come into this season as the champions so there is a bit of pressure on them and it can be harder to retain a title than to win it for the first time.”

Mos are boosted by the return to the club of forward Andy Smith, but Nicky Lewis (knee) and Dan Fudger (quad) remain sidelined.

The Mos head into the NIHL South Division 1 game with mixed fortunes from the previous weekend.

On Saturday, they suffered their first defeat, losing 5-2 away to the London Raiders before returning to Gillingham and beating Solent & Gosport 10-6 on Sunday.

Face-off on Sunday is at 5.15pm.
