Kent Police appeal for witnesses as 58-year-old woman fights for her life in hospital after a crash on Cuxton Road, Strood, last night

A woman is fighting for her life after crashing her car into a roundabout on a busy road in Strood last night.

The woman, who has not been named, suffered life-threatening injuries after her car, a red Toyota Avensis, hit the roundabout leading to Medway Valley Park, Cuxton.

The smash happened at about 10.15pm as she was travelling along the A228 Cuxton Road.

Crash scene investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward in a bid to help them determine how the crash happened.

The woman, 58, was taken to hospital, where she remains.

The road was closed for a number of hours while officers from Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit attended the scene.
