Traffic was temporarily held on the M2 following concerns for the welfare of a woman.

Police received a call at 2.41pm today (Friday) after a person was seen on the side of the carriageway near junction 2 for Strood.

A rolling roadblock, understood to have affected traffic in both carriageways, was put in place by officers while efforts were made to locate the woman.

She was found a short while later safe and well.
