Naturist Jarrod Larkin from Chattenden denies child sex offences

A naturist accused of repeated sexual abuse told police there were "no boundaries with nudity", a court heard.

Jarrod Larkin made the comment after he was arrested at the historic and private King's School, in Rochester.

The 53-year-old was working as a site support manager at the school. He was unanimously cleared by the jury on July 12.

Maidstone Crown Court was told Larkin was known for walking around his home and mowing his lawn in the nude.

But having been arrested at the school in February 2018, he denied his behaviour was sexually motivated, or that he had abused anyone.

It is alleged that Larkin encouraged a boy to masturbate on the promise of buying him chips, and showed him pornographic DVDs.

The court was told the pair also compared the sizes of their manhoods, using a metal ruler to measure them.

"He said he was a naturist and there were no boundaries with nudity. He said it was the norm..." Martin Yale, prosecutor

Prosecutor Martin Yale told the court that although Larkin accepted some of his behaviour with the boy, he denied 'any more overt' sexual conduct.

"The defendant says he is a naturist and regarded the behaviour as entirely normal. He said there was no sexual motive," said Mr Yale as he opened the prosecution case.

"When he was interviewed by police, he denied that he had sexually abused the boy.

"He said he was a naturist and there were no boundaries with nudity. He said it was the norm."

Larkin, from Chattenden, Kent, denies six offences of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two of engaging in sexual activity.

The court was told that the boy was promised chips when he initially refused to do what Larkin asked.

On other occasions, Larkin was said to have 'asked persistently'.

"He asked the boy to masturbate. Again, he didn't want to do it, and again the defendant was persistent, and again the boy eventually gave in," said Mr Yale.

The alleged victim later confided in a schoolfriend and police were eventually alerted.

The trial continues.
