Scallywags was chosen by Twydall School to take over the nursery after the previous providers closed the setting in 2021.

JAKS has been named after the first letters of the names of the four directors and managers at Scallywags - Jo Watson, Andrea Holmes, Kelly Mumford and Siobhan Jones.

They are the directors of the new nursery and it is being managed by Libbie Brown, who has worked for Scallywags for 16 years.

JAKS looks after children from the age of two until they start school and offers funded places for two and three year olds.

The day is divided into two sessions - the morning session is 8.45am to 11.45am and the afternoon is 12.30pm to 3.30pm but children can stay all day.

The room has been given a makeover and now has a cosy reading area, a home corner and a place for messy play.
