Ninja Warriors UK and Gymfinity Kids coming to Chatham

An activity centre based on the hit ITV show Ninja Warrior UK is opening in Kent.

The programme, hosted by Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara, sees competitors take on a tough obstacle course. And soon people in the county will be able to try it for themselves.

The centre is due to open in the former Dicken's World building in Chatham in December. In the same month, the children's gymnastics centre Gymfinity is also opening at the venue.

A statement on the Ninja Warriors UK website says: "The Ninja Warrior UK TV show is great family entertainment and is both inspiring and aspirational, which is why ITV and its partners have created different types of Ninja Warrior UK supervised activity and fitness venues across the UK, all geared to wide age and ability ranges.

"All of our venues are fun, safe and inclusive, enabling all participants to create their own Ninja Warrior UK journeys."

Visitors to the Chatham centre will be able to climb, balance, jump and swing across different obstacles including the show's famous Warped Wall.

Parents and carers will be able to watch their little ninjas for free from the cafe area.

Ninja Warrior sessions are for ages five and above. Adults are advised to stay with any ninjas aged under eight.

Sessions cannot yet be booked, but people can purchase gift vouchers from the website.

Gymfinity Kids is also opening in the former Dicken's World building after plans were first revealed in July 2019.

The company says it will be its "largest and most impressive club yet" offering gymnastics and pre-schools classes, as well as a nursery.

A spokesman for Gymfinity Kids said: “We are pleased to confirm our plans to open a Gymfinity Kids club and nursery in Chatham before the end of the year.

"The new club, based at Chatham Maritime, will take over part of the old Dickens World unit and will create 25 job opportunities in the local area.

"This will be our largest and most impressive club yet, with a nursery and state-of-the-art gym offering kids activity classes, holiday camps and parties for children from babies through to teenagers.

"Now more than ever it’s vital to get kids active and moving their bodies, which is why we are so excited to welcome new members to our Chatham club.”

Parents can register their interest for a nursery place now and receive £0 registration fee plus 10% off for three months.

Gymfinity Kids has six centres across England including one in Maidstone.

Earlier this month plans were approved for a new bowling alley, KFC, Costa and Kaspa's at the former Dicken's World.
