The Libertines and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction visit Robin Hood pub on Blue Bell Hill, Chatham

An off the beaten track pub down a quiet country lane has played host to two giants of the music world - The Libertines and Louis Tomlinson a former band member of One Direction.

In just two weeks, Pete Doherty and the lads popped in for some traditional pub grub at the Robin Hood on Blue Bell Hill, in Chatham.

And last night singer songwriter Tomlinson from the world-famous boy band came in for supper.

Brian Healey, who works behind the bar, recognised The Libertines immediately and they posed for a picture.

Brian, 49, who has worked at the boozer for just six months, said "I am a fan. They were very sociable and stayed for about and hour and had a round of drinks.

"I spoke to their management and he said they had been using a recording studio down the road."

Brian was not on duty when Tomlinson made an appearance, but he apparently turned a few heads from the regulars who frequent the local.

Tomlinson and his other band members including Novello - winner Harry Styles, soared to fame after auditioning on the X Factor in 2010. They have a string of big hits like Story of My Life and What Makes You Beautiful.

Frontman Doherty, who has recently married, has moved from Margate to Normandy, France.

The band bought The Albion Rooms, a hotel and recording studio in Cliftonville in the town.

A post on Facebook from the pub reads: "OK, so a couple of weeks ago, Peter Doherty and The Libertines came in for lunch and then last night Louis Tomlinson of One Direction rocks up for dinner.

What lovely people and to be told our food is banging isn't that bad either. Go Team Hood."
