Robbers steal phones worth £14k from Gadcet Store in Chatham

Four men snatched £14,000 worth of mobile phones during a robbery at a shop in Chatham.

The gang targeted Gadcet electronics store in the High Street during the daring lunchtime raid.

Two of them acted as lookouts, while one jumped over the counter pushing a store worker away and passing goods to an accomplice.

They then walked out with their stolen items in a TK Maxx bag.

Police confirmed they were called to the shop at 1.43pm on Tuesday.

Spokesman Steve Knight said: "It was reported that four men entered the property and threatened a member of staff before stealing a number of smartphones from behind the counter.

"Officers attended and are continuing to carry out inquiries into the incident."

Police said no weapons were used during the raid.
