A heavy police presence has been spotted outside a cordoned off block of flats.
Four cars and officers are on Delce Road, Rochester, at the junction of Foord Street.
Nearby Ross Street has also been cordoned off by the force this morning.
One witness said: "I have no idea what it is, but there is a lot of police officers."
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a burglary in progress at a property in Delce Road, Rochester, just after 10am this morning.
"Officers attended the property and currently remain there whilst it is forensically examined, and detectives establish the full circumstances surrounding the scene."
