The emergency services have cordoned off a busy main road outside a shopping centre.
Part of the street outside The Brook multi storey car park in Chatham, next to the Pentagon, has been taped off by police officers this evening (November 13).
Officers are being assisted by paramedics at the scene and sheets have been erected at the traffic lights to screen off the scene.
There are reports the air ambulance has landed nearby at the Great Lines Heritage Park.
Fire crews were also at the scene but have since left.
Kelly Longman, who lives nearby, said she first knew something had happened when she heard “the sirens”.
She added: “My next-door neighbour came around to tell me the emergency services were there and they had shut part of the road.
“There are police, ambulances and there was a fire truck. A helicopter was also flying around very low.
“I do not know what happened but I did hear a noise coming from the area.”
The emergency services have been contacted for further information.
