Police arrest man in Chatham to appear in court after suspected drug deal

A man will appear in court after drugs valued up to £4,000 were seized by officers.

Police spotted what they thought was a drug deal unfolding in Chatham on Monday, Novmber 11.

They followed a man who left the scene in Ordnance Street by bike and stopped him in New Road.

Police say substances believed to be crack cocaine and heroin were discovered, as well as 10 bags suspected to be cannabis, two phones and cash.

Daniel Edwards, formerly of Dock Road, Chatham, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply class crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of criminal property.

The 25-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday, November 12).

He was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, December 10.
