Medway Maritime Hospital wants your views on nurses and midwives

Hospital bosses are hoping the public will help them mark two key dates next month.

Health services across the world will be celebrating International Midwives' Day on May 5 and International Nurses' Day on May 12.

As part of this, the nursing team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust wants to hear from the community about their positive experiences with the hospital's nurses and midwives.

Chief nursing officer Evonne Hunt said: “If you have been cared for here at Medway Maritime Hospital, I know that you will have memories of the nurses and midwives that looked after you when you were with us and will have moments that have stayed with you.

"It might be of the nurse who fought to save your life or the life of your loved one; the midwife who supported you through the birth of your baby; the nurse who kept your spirits up while you recovered from a serious illness, or who supported and comforted your loved one in their last days.

"We want to find out about the nurses and midwives who helped you in a way that really mattered to you – big or small – so that we can recognise and celebrate them as part of our celebrations here in Medway for this International Nurses Day and International Midwives Day.
