Inquiries continue after cement mixer collision in Cuxton

Police say enquiries are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances behind a crash in which a cement mixer collided with a row of vehicles.

Several people were injured after the lorry crashed into eight vehicles waiting in traffic on the A228 Rochester Road at Cuxton on Wednesday September 2.

There were no serious injuries and police say they have made no arrests.

Fleetmix concrete suppliers, who own the lorry, say the driver was shaken up but not injured in the incident.

They did not wish to comment further until they had spoken with the police.

The incident sparked a major emergency operation, with up to 10 ambulances and the air ambulance sent to the scene, and the road was closed for more than five hours.

Following the incident van driver Tim Rogers driver, nicknamed 'Lucky' by his work colleagues, described his narrow escape from serious injury .

He had been queuing in traffic waiting to go through roadworks when the lorry collided into vehicles in front of him and swerved around his van before colliding with vehicles behind him.
