Fresh plans for pizza restaurant at Halling Railway Station booking office approved

Revised plans to convert an old booking office at a railway station into a pizza restaurant have been approved.

Ian Parris had hoped to open the takeaway at Halling Station but fears over litter, noise and traffic saw his plan refused by Medway Council's planning department.

The former property surveyor – who runs E's Pizza Revolution from a trailer in nearby Leybourne – applied to take over the redundant building in Station Approach.

In September, planners ruled it would have a detrimental impact on the surrounding area.

However, a re-submission of the plans saw the takeaway and delivery feature removed.

Under the new plans, the premises will be eat-in and will serve coffee, doughnuts and sandwiches during the day and pizza in the evening.

The eatery has permission to open from 6.30am to 11pm.

The decision was published on Wednesday, November 24.
