A late-night crash woke residents as the driver reportedly fled the scene.

The BMW ploughed into several cars in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, in the early hours of this morning.

Those living in the area went out onto the street to look at the commotion.

Reports suggest the driver fled the scene after the collision but police have not confirmed this.

Pictures show severe damage to the BMW – including a crumpled bonnet.

Other vehicles were also damaged in the collision.

Emergency services were called and the road was blocked while the wreckage was cleared.

Police have been contacted for more information.
