A woman was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash near an airport.

The accident left the A229 Maidstone Road in Rochester blocked in both directions between Rochester Airport Roundabout and the A230 Horsted Way yesterday (Saturday).

Police were called to the scene at about 7.20pm.

One woman was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, while the driver of the other vehicle reportedly left the scene following the crash.

But police confirmed the driver has since made contact with officers.

A spokesman said: "Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing."
