A busy road will be partially shut for four weeks due to gas works.
SGN will begin carrying out essential network upgrades along the A228 Frindsbury Road in Strood from Monday (July 7).
The work is part of a programme to replace the old mains with a new plastic pipe which should last up to 80 years.
Frindsbury Road will initially shut at the junction with Grove Road.
The closure point of the road will move over the four-week period, and signed diversion routes will be in place.
Bus routes will also be affected, and routes that usually use North Street will be diverted via Station Road.
The North Street Post Office and St Mary’s Road bus stops will not be in use.
Medway Council says the works were planned to coincide with the school holidays to “minimise disruption”.
It added: “We understand roadworks can be frustrating and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
SGN has been approached for comment.
