Drivers faced delays this evening following a crash between a gritter lorry and a car.

The A289 Medway Tunnel was blocked eastbound, between Anthonys Way in Rochester and Maritime Way in Gillingham.

An ambulance was reportedly at the scene, just before the tunnel.

Traffic in the area has now returned to normal.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 6.14pm on Thursday 28 November to a collision involving a lorry and a car in Vanguard Way, Wainscott.

“Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported.”
