A puppy stolen during a burglary has been reunited with his owner after being found in woods in Gillingham.

Rocco the Staffordshire bull terrier was snatched in January when thieves raided the home of Strood couple Lucy McNaught and Jake Lal.

But the pup has been reunited with his owners who set up a Facebook group that was joined by more than 1,200 people.

The moment he was stolen was captured via a neighbour's CCTV camera, pictured right.

The images showed two men walking away from the house in Lancelot Avenue with the puppy and a large box, the safe stolen in the same raid.

Rocco was found on Wednesday evening in woods near the Tesco store in Gillingham, by someone who was walking their own dogs.

He was taken to a vet and checked over and then reunited with Lucy. The news was posted on the Doglost website by the co-ordinator, who calls herself Sherlock Bones (Dee).

She said: "I cannot thank those who helped enough, so many of you who helped get Rocco home safe and well. The important thing is Rocco is back where he belongs.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm one happy Doglost coordinator."
