Fort Pitt went into lockdown on Friday, March 20, and like many other schools, their learning community was separated.

After several weeks, the school's head of maths, Emma Brownridge, had the idea of producing a video to show her students their teachers miss them.

Claire King, head of music, played the backing music on her piano and staff were asked to volunteer a line to sing.

Headteacher, Nicky Archer said: “Students have worked so hard over the last few weeks, and they have really risen to the challenge, but we know they’re finding it tough missing their friends and teachers, so we really wanted to do something to make them smile.

"Mrs Brownridge had a moment of inspiration one lockdown evening and rewrote the lyrics to 'Let it Go', she then asked staff if they’d like to be part of the song and before she knew it she was inundated with volunteers and the video idea was born.

"Our wonderful head of music provided the music on piano and the rest of us provided the vocals - of varying quality.

"It’s now been viewed and commented on by thousands of people, including students past and present, parents and friends of the school, and has definitely made people smile.

"I imagine it’s also made plenty of people wince”
