Arrest after police called to Thomas Aveling School in Rochester

A boy has been arrested after an incident reportedly put a school into lockdown.

Police officers were called to Thomas Aveling School in Arethusa Road, Rochester this morning after reports of criminal damage and assault.

A spokesman said inquiries are ongoing.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and an assault.

It has not been confirmed whether the boy was a pupil at the school.

Reports the school had been put "into lockdown" after staff and pupils had been attacked have not been confirmed.
