Three teenagers bailed by officers after police chase in Strood

Three teenagers who were were arrested on suspicion of burglary after a police chase on Sunday afternoon, have been bailed by police.

The National Police Air Service helicopter was scrambled to assist in the tracking of the car which was first spotted travelling on the A2 towards Strood just before 2.30pm.

The vehicle then failed to to stop following a collision in Albatross Avenue, Strood.

The pursuit continued and authority was given to use a stringer to stop the car.

Three suspects, and 18-year-old man, and two 16-year-olds, then fled on foot but were detained in nearby Darnley Road.

The two 16-year-olds, one from Rochester, the other from Strood, have been bailed return to a police station on Thursday, August 2.

Police said on Tuesday afternoon, the 18-year-old man from Gillingham also arrested, has been bailed pending further inquiries until Friday, August 10.
