Man airlifted to London hospital with serious injuries after car crashes into tree on Wainscott Bypass near Higham

A man has been airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries after a car collided with a tree.

The Wainscott Bypass was closed near Higham yesterday (Friday) after emergency services were called to the crash shortly after 7pm.

An air ambulance was spotted landing off Gravesend Road.

Officers, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene and the driver was treated for serious injuries.

A police spokesman said: “He was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance for medical attention.”

There were reports of serious delays in the area as emergency services responded to the incident.

It was previously reported there were two collisions in the area, but police have since confirmed there was only one crash.
