Traffic on a busy road is at a standstill after a collision.

A motorbike crashed with a car on Blue Bell Hill at 8.50am this morning.

The incident happened on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A229 near the M20, junction 6.

An eyewitness said an ambulance and police officers are on the scene and more emergency vehicles have been seen heading towards the site.

The motorcyclist was treated on the roadside, her injuries are described as minor and she was not taken to hospital.

Traffic is believed to still be gridlocked and drivers should avoid the area.

There are also further reports of an accident earlier this morning which contributed to the queues.
