A man alleged to have tried to rob post office counter staff while armed with an imitation gun will stand trial this year.
Liam Griffiths, 40, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today (January 13) where he denied involvement in the raid which took place two weeks before Christmas.
He faces two charges, namely of attempted robbery and having an imitation firearm - a black handgun - with intent to commit robbery at Twydall Post Office on December 10 last year.
The offences occurred in the Twydall Premier store shortly before 3pm and resulted in armed police attending the scene.
Griffiths, of no fixed address, was arrested six days later.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges during his brief hearing and was remanded in custody until his four-day trial gets underway on June 2.
