A Kent mother is believed to have drowned after she became trapped in rocks along a seafront.
Saffron Cole-Nottage died after tripping and falling between the large boulders along the seawall in Lowestoft, Suffolk, on Sunday (February 2).
A huge emergency response descended on The Esplanade, near the Royal Green area of the town, at around 8pm following initial reports someone had fallen into the water.
Police officers, paramedics, rescue teams from Lowestoft, the HM Coastguard and air ambulance crews were all in attendance.
Despite their efforts, Saffron, who is believed to be from Medway, died at the scene.
Cards and flowers have since been placed near the scene from the 32-year-old’s friends and family paying tribute to their “beautiful” and “best” mother, daughter and auntie.
One read: “You will be forever missed by so many. Me and the kids will love you and never forget you. Until we meet again.”
Another added: “You will be missed. I thank you for everything you have done for me.”
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said her death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
