A busy road was closed earlier this afternoon so firefighters could cut a man out of a car following a crash.

Police were called just before 12.30pm after a car and a van collided on the A2 near Otterham Quay Lane, Rainham.

The smash took place on the junction with the A2.

The road was closed while firefighters freed the man.

A police spokesman said no serious injuries were reported, but Kent Fire and Rescue Service said two men were hurt.
