Men charged with drug dealing after crash closes Dock Road, Chatham

Two men have been charged with drug dealing after an incident which saw a main road closed off.

Traffic was left at a standstill in Dock Road, Chatham, on Thursday from 10.30am, when officers spotted a vehicle they believed was suspicious.

The driver is alleged to have sped off, smashing into a number of cars travelling in the opposite direction.

Police closed the road at the junction with Globe Lane and arrested the driver and passenger.

They also seized Class A drugs.

Officers later charged Leesean Francis, 20, of Bridgetown Close, London, and 19-year-old Joshua Malcom, of Wingford Road, London, with possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.

Francis was also charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

Both appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where they were remanded into custody, pending a future hearing.
