PCSOs find cannabis cultivation while on foot patrol in Dale Street, Chatham

A cannabis cultivation was uncovered in a house after a back door was left open.

Two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) uncovered the plants after becoming suspicious of a property in Dale Street, Chatham.

Upon approaching the property last Wednesday they noticed the plants.

Kent Police officers then searched the house and found between 50 and 80 small cannabis plants being grown in the basement.

On the ground floor and first floor there were approximately 60 pots which had been cut down showing the remains of cannabis plants and the house was also full of growing equipment including fertilizer and ventilation systems.

The cultivation has since been dismantled and inquiries to establish who has been using the property are ongoing.

No arrests have yet been made and inquiries are ongoing.
