London man who allegedly skipped court captured outside Rainham Candy Store

A man wanted on a warrant for allegedly failing to appear in court has been captured outside a parade of shops.

Police attended Station Road, Rainham, around midday where they arrested him.

Four police cars were outside The Candy Store in Rainham in an incident unrelated to the shop.

They arrested a 36-year-old from London on suspicion of failing to appear in court.

An eyewitness account said: "I saw two men when the police arrived. One was caught and put in the police car but the other ran away."

The man remains in police custody.
