Jess Glynne cancels Rochester Castle Concerts - how to get a refund

Singer Jess Glynne has pulled out of the Rochester Castle Concerts on medical grounds.

A statement released by the Rather Be singer, said: "It absolutely kills me to say this ... but on the advice of my vocal surgeon, I am going to have to cancel my next few shows through until July 14."

Jess was due to play a sold out show with support from Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt in Rochester Castle Gardens, on Thursday, July 11.

Craig David has since been announced as her replacement.

What should you do if you purchased tickets?

If you want to see Craig David you can transfer your Jess Glynne tickets by calling the box office on 01634 338338 or call in at the Central or Brook Theatres in Chatham from 10am on Monday, July 1, until 5pm on Tuesday, July 2.

The difference will be refunded and new tickets issued.

Tickets will go on general sale for £45 from 10am on Wednesday, July 3. You can buy tickets here.

You can still swap them for and attend another Castle Concerts show. These include:

  • Rudimental Sound System, featuring special guests platinum-selling artist Example, and fellow BRIT nominee, Mahalia on Wednesday, July 10.
  • Soul Party with legend George McCrae, singer of the smash hit Rock Your Baby, disco group Odyssey and Proud singer Heather Small on Friday, July 12.
  • The Proms. The annual finale from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra is James Bond themed. The world’s most successful musical theatre group and stars of Britain’s Got Talent Collabro, soprano Laura Wright will sing to the live music.The Kent Rock Choir will also be performing and interval entertainment will be provided by NChant, the Senior Girls' Choir from The Rochester Grammar School on Saturday, July 13.

The council, who run the Castle Concerts, will be offering a full refund for those who do not want to exchange their tickets.

Ticket holders will be contacted by the box office over the next few days.
