Woman arrested in murder probe as man dies after suffering stab wounds at house in Castle Road, Chatham

A murder investigation has been launched and a woman arrested after a man found with stab wounds died.

Castle Road in Chatham was cordoned off by police following the incident at 10.12am yesterday.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but the victim - who was in his 40s - died as they tried to treat him. Police say he had injuries “consistent with stab wounds”.

Officers have arrested a 45-year-old woman in connection with the incident, who remains in custody.

A police spokesman added: “Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them.

Witnesses reported seeing multiple police cars at the scene as well as a forensic team yesterday.

One, who did not wish to be named, told KentOnline: “The road has been shut to all traffic and pedestrians between Victoria Road and Reform Road, including the junction with Listmas Road.

“It looks like a very serious incident.”
