Zombie knives and knuckle dusters were among the haul of weapons found following combined raids by police in the same village.

Police arrested four suspects during the raids in Cliffe near Rochester on Friday morning.

At an address in Reed Street, officers found cocaine, zombie knives and knuckle dusters, along with cash, cannabis, deal bags, mobile phones and scales.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

A second search at a property nearby recovered cannabis and deal bags, and an 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old youth were detained for being concerned in the supply of a class B drug.

A property in Thatchers Lane was found to contain cocaine, cash, and various drug-related paraphernalia. A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

All four were taken into custody and later bailed pending further inquiries.

The Labour MP for Rochester and Strood, Lauren Edwards, accompanied the police on the morning raids.

She said: “I was pleased to see first-hand the work Kent Police are doing to tackle suspected drug dealing in Cliffe.

“The arrests were part of a day of action across the Hoo Peninsula and show that Kent Police takes seriously the anti-social behaviour, drug issues, and other criminal behaviour that has been reported to them by residents and which I have raised with them.”

“Taking drugs and weapons off the streets is essential to making people feel safe in their community and I will continue to work with the hardworking local police force to make sure driving down crime in the more rural parts of my constituency is a priority.”
