Chatham-born Driscoll, who started out at Jumpers, was competing in her 23rd consecutive British Championship and turned in some consistent routines to clinch gold.

She scored 51.745 in the final for a total of 152.970 to secure the title.

Driscoll said: “I’m happy to have got the title back, because it’s been a little while since I last won it.

“I felt really nervous and that maybe got to me a bit, but I was pleased to go through my three routines clean.

“This is my fourth British title, and my 21st consecutive podium finish, which is something I’m incredibly proud of.”

Runner-up Brownsey, who won World Age Group gold last year, finished second in her first British final as a senior, with a score of 145.250.
