Gillingham boss Peter Taylor admitted you never know what you'll get from League 1 players following Bradley Dack's second-half show against Crawley.

He made his point when reflecting on Dack’s strong performance as a half-time substitute.

Dack’s introduction in a change of system led to a much-improved second half for the Gills on Saturday.

His energy and running lifted Gills and the midfielder went close to a goal with a fine strike that hit the bar.

Taylor said: “Bradley’s capable of that. His last game was Rochdale away where he wasn’t so good, where he started. That’s football. At times you never know, especially at this level. You don’t know what they’re going to produce.

“Dacky’s a very good player, very talented player. Sometimes he’s done very well coming off the bench. That’s why we did it at half-time.

“I thought he showed some good things and his shot hit the bar. He’s very capable of getting into areas to cause a problem.”
