Barry Fuller and Dean Parrett are both expected to miss Gillingham’s trip to Southend.
The Gills head to Roots Hall on New Year's Day for their first match of 2019 but have picked up a number of injuries recently.
Fuller and Parrett both limped out of the home defeat against Doncaster on Saturday.
“I think the two of them are going to be missing,” confirmed Gills manager Steve Lovell.
“Luke O’Neill went on (for Fuller) and had a really good game and did well, he was very bright on the right, and I thought Billy Bingham (who replaced Parrett) did quite well when he was on as well.”
Regan Charles-Cook was left out of the weekend matchday squad because of injury but he could be back for Southend.
Lovell said: “He has got a little hamstring problem. There was no point having him on the bench, I wanted him to get ready for Tuesday.
“We will have a look on Monday and see what we have got, access the walking wounded and pick a team accordingly.”
Lovell also confirmed that Max Ehmer (dislocated shoulder) is unlikely to be back until January 12 against Burton, while Gills are in discussions with Spurs to extend Connor Ogilvie’s loan.
