Invicta Dynamos are hoping to have their latest recruit on the ice this Sunday when they return to action.
The Mos had last weekend off but welcome Oxford City Stars to Planet Ice in their only game of the weekend.
Hoping to be with them is returning forward player Louie White.
White, 19, is a Medway native and started skating with Invicta as a four-year-old before progressing through Streatham’s under-15 and under-18 teams.
He moved to the prestigious Ontario Jockey Academy and most recently has been playing for the Florida Junior Blades in the USPHL Elite League. When his season ended, he was keen to come back to England and represent his hometown team again.
He said: “I’m eager to hit the ice, contribute to the team and help push the club into the play-offs to finish the season strong.”
Head coach Karl Lennon is glad to have him back.
“It would be great to give him his debut,” Lennon said.
“He's familiar to these parts and after his team missed out on the play-offs this season he said to me he would like to come home and play some games before the season finishes.”
White already knows the team well having trained with them over the last couple of pre-seasons.
“The boys know him, which is good,” said the coach.
“On top of that, we know a little bit more about him as a player and so he doesn’t come as an unknown quantity.
“He’s never played men’s hockey before, so that’ll be a different thing for him. He’s 19, 6ft 1in, so I can imagine that he will be pretty accustomed to the physical element, especially playing over in the States and Canada. It’s a welcome addition.”
The Dynamos have won their last four matches and will be hoping to continue their positive form against Oxford, who they beat 9-3 last time they met in Gillingham and won 4-0 away.
Regan O’Neill is expected to return from suspension and Mads Thune is also available again.
Lennon said: “Slowly but surely we will be bringing people back into the fold and having that depth will be a big thing for us.”
The week off gave extra recovery time for Aaron Connolly (thumb) and Joe Stevenson (elbow).
The coach added: “A few guys on the team were carrying knocks and it’s been good for them to have a little break.”
