He is one of several second year pros who are set to sign new one year deals, after the club took up the option of another season.

O’Mara came off the bench against Blackburn and played a full game against Portsmouth, a match broadcast live on TV.

There were also two appearances last season in the Checkatrade Trophy, against Colchester United and Reading.

O’Mara also enjoyed a successful spell with Folkestone Invicta.

He said: “I’m pleased to have got it done. I’ve worked hard to get that second year. Last season could have been better but I need to strive forward now.

“Getting into the first team will be tough but it’s a fresh start for everybody and you never know what might happen. I’m looking forward to it.”
