He also played a key role in the deal that saw Brad and Shannon Galinson arrive as the club’s owners in December 2022.

Fisher said: “I was brought in by Paul Scally last summer and I would like to think I now leave the club in a far more secure position than it was back then.

“I have really enjoyed my time back at Priestfield and working with Neil Harris, his management staff, the players and the team behind the scenes. It has been a pleasure to work at the club I have supported for over 50 years.

“I remain a fan and I look forward to getting my season ticket for the exciting times ahead.”

Gillingham owner Brad Galinson said: "I’d like to thank Fish very much for his tireless efforts during his time at the club.

“We had numerous conversations with him prior to completing our takeover and his input was pivotal in getting the deal over the line before the New Year.

“His hard work will not be forgotten, he will always be welcome at Priestfield and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”

The club have said Fisher has left to focus on his growing advisory and consultancy company, GVS.
