Pre-season friendly: Eastleigh 0 Gillingham 4

A much-improved second half display from Gillingham at Eastleigh led to a comfortable 4-0 win.

Dean Parrett opened the scoring from the spot before the Gills added three more in the second half.

Eastleigh, managed by former Gills player and manager Andy Hessenthaler, caused problems in the first 45 minutes but the visitors took control after the break.

Mark Yeates was causing problems for the Gills early on but Eastleigh found themselves a goal behind after Parrett converted from the spot, after Regan Charles-Cook was fouled in the area by the home keeper Graham Stack.

Former Gills striker Ben Williamson twice came close before the break, thwarted by a couple of good Tomas Holy saves.

The Gills stepped it up after the break, doubling the lead through Elliott List, who surged forward before cutting onto his right foot and sending a shot past Stack.

It was List's fourth goal of the pre-season campaign, following one against Bromley and a double against Dartford the week before.

Liam Nash made it 3-0 on 77 minutes, shortly after replacing List, his shot going in off the keeper after being played in by fellow substitute Navid Nasseri. That goal also took Nash's pre-season tally to four.

Brandon Hanlan headed home the fourth goal with 10 minutes left, from a corner kick.

Gillingham: Holy (Hadler 78mins), O'Neill (Fuller 58mins), Ehmer, Zakuani, Lacey, Garmston, Charles-Cook (Nasseri 74mins), Parrett (Bingham 66mins), Byrne (Rees 74mins), Parker (Hanlan 46mins), List (Nash 71mins). Attendance: 491
