Gillingham will be up against their former star striker on the opening day of the League 1 season.
Steve Evans’ side host relegated Hull City on September 12, meaning a return to Priestfield for Tom Eaves, the popular frontman who joined the Tigers a year ago.
The Gills face another relegated side the following weekend when they make the trip to the DW Stadium to face Wigan.
October looks a particularly tough month with home games against Oxford, Portsmouth, Fleetwood and Sunderland, as well as a midweek game at Ipswich.
Gills fans will be looking forward to taking on Charlton, following the Addicks’ relegation from the Championship.
They meet at Priestfield on November 21, with the return on February 13.
Gillingham finish the season at home to Plymouth on May 8.
The season is starting six weeks later than originally planned because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The opening game will be Gillingham's first league match since they drew 2-2 at Sunderland on March 7 .
Gillingham's season gets under way the previous weekend when they are at home to League 2 Southend in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
As things stand, Gillingham will start the season behind closed doors with spectators not expected back in stadiums until October at professional levels of the game.
