Gillingham will hand a debut to their new loan signing at Dover on Saturday.
The Gills confirmed the loan signing of Ipswich Town defender Elkan Baggott on Friday night.
The 19-year-old - who was born in Bangkok and schooled in Indonesia before his family moved to England - trained with the Gills squad ahead of the weekend and says he’s looking forward to getting his first taste of action for his new club. Gillingham play Dover at Crabble on Saturday (1pm).
“Friday was a good session and I'm now looking forward to the game tomorrow,” said the Indonesian international centre-back.
“I want to improve myself and the objective for me, and us collectively, is to finish as high up in League 2 as possible."
In June, the teenager signed a new three-year contract with Ipswich.
Baggott has played 10 times for his country and featured in an international friendly last month.
Domestically, he has found games hard to come by, limited to just two league appearances for Ipswich last season.
He made his debut for the club against the Gills in an EFL Trophy match in October 2020, a game the Suffolk side won 2-0. He spent the latter stages of that season with struggling National League side Kings Lynn, making seven league appearances for them.
The 6ft 4inch defender has joined on a season-long deal and boosts Gillingham’s player numbers to 14.
